Smoke

Don't let the smoke get in your eyes.
One special thing about camping is you get to eat eggs and bacon for breakfast. But this trip we got turkey bacon which is not bacon to me. It doesn’t taste the same and its way harder to cook. Put it in a pan and it doesn’t like to cook without burning because it just doesn’t have enough grease. I realized this too late and filled the camper with smoke. The smoke alarm went off and we had to open the roof fan to blow the smoke out. Next thing I know I heard a fire engine horn. Looking out the window I see a fire engine! Turns out they have one at the campground and give the kids rides. Hee hee. This is a picture of Rustic Creek Ranch’s fire engine. It’s just south of Fort Worth Texas.

Picnic Camping

Picnic camping is when you take the camper out for a day to just picnic. We did this on the sixth. Drove 80 miles to picnic at a state park. Garner State Park. It was 95 degrees and everybody in Texas decided to go tubing at this state park. We were going to get a camp site so we could picnic less crowded but sign said No Vacancies. So we drove around the park just looking for a space to stop. Saw lots of empty camp sites so not sure what the No Vacancies meant. We ended up parking in the last spots by the river. We didn’t bring outside chairs so had to eat in the camper. This was better than the last trip where we drove to Junction and back and didn’t even stop anywhere. Next time I think we are going to get reservations!

Simple is Best

What is it that children play with and can be used on the table? Answer: A Lego napkin holder!
I’m sitting at home thinking how I can make a napkin holder using materials that are here at home and I came up with this. Isn’t it cute? I think I’ll keep it. It’s the Recognizer or Stomper from Tron the movie. Yeah, I know I could have bought a napkin holder but this is so much cooler. Tron was filmed in 1982.
