Nothing is ever simple. But it's sure not dull. We have had a few days of rain and most of the snow has melted. We needed a dumpster dropped off so Joe could fill it with building debris. Then the truck got stuck. It sunk the tires up to the rims. He called another guy who delivers dumpsters to pull him out. And all this while the traffic backed up. I should have gotten a drink and sat out there to watch. I'd forgotten what it's like to get stuck because Texas is so dry. I just hope he comes to pick up the dumpster when we are done with it.

A side trip is not always the right path...or was it.
On the spur of the moment we decided to take some back roads in Kentucky. We got a little lost and saw a few small towns. So on our way to where we should have been, the finger of fate sucked us in. We drove over three bridges not realizing or thinking about weight. Usually we watch for height limits. After the bridges we were stopped by a policeman who told us our vehicle was over weight for the bridges. He said he had to ticket us but if the scale truck was available it would be a lot more. Then they would have to charge us so much for every pound we were over. So instead he gave us a ticket on disregarding a sign (it was the size of truck and it's limits). Quite a hefty fee anyway at $243. Good thing that Dusty slept through the situation or it could have gotten ugly.
Yesterday Joe was looking online to determine if this was a legal stop. You know you read about people dressed as policemen stopping vehicles. Joe did find that while this officer was ticketing us, a policeman was shot answering a domestic call in the same area. If he had been free that could have been him. Maybe it was not his time but it sure is something that makes you think. Maybe we were lost for a reason.

Everything is bigger in Texas.
We may have moved out of town but here is the local new car lot for the tall guy to guard. Even tho we had strong winds one day, he is still standing tall.
As we drive into the sunset and leave the city and state, we say our ado's to everything big. Except the trees. Indiana has bigger trees.

Where did everyone come from?
Did I miss something or is this really not a depressed area. There were people all over! Growth is not always a good thing. You will have more traffic jams, lots of long lines, and products that are sold out. Also more grumpy people.
Well, we are planning on returning to Indiana. We know they have traffic there too but you got to live someplace. It's been cold here too but that is changing, changing in time for the warm front.
